Q: What is LabLine Central?
A: LabLine Central is a state-of-the-art service
that allows your patients to easily retrieve their messages by telephone
at their convenience and without the need to talk with you or your staff!
We also include an appointment reminder service and a message notification
service for your convenience.

How does it work?
A: A provider calls a toll-free
telephone number, logs in, and then hears their greeting (for example, "Welcome,
Dr. Kelly Johnson"). He or she enters the patient’s
ID number and a four-digit passcode and then records
a personal message (i.e. the lab results) for the patient. They can easily
move on to the next patient, or hang up when finished... or they could
simply send a web message instead.
Q: When leaving a message for a patient, can I pause
the recording?
A: Yes. Pressing the star key will pause the
recording. Pressing the star key again will resume the recording where
you left off.

What is a Web Message?
A: While we think it's best to send a personal
message to a patient, we've included the web messages feature to allow you
to send generic lab results messages by making a few clicks on the LabLine
Central website, without even picking up the phone.

How do Web Messages work?
A: Setting up your web messages is easy. First,
you record the web message over the phone. Then, you can quickly send
one to a patient at any time by logging in to the webpage and selecting
the web message you would like to send.

How do our patients retrieve their messages?
A: Each patient will call a toll-free telephone number
and will hear a personalized greeting for your group (for example,
"Good morning! Thank you for calling Northshore Physicians, and
welcome to LabLine Central, your personal 24-hour medical message line.").
The system
will then ask the patient to enter their ID number and their four-digit
passcode. Your patient will hear their lab results
delivered as a personal message from the provider.
Q: What's the best four-digit number to use for a
patient's passcode?
A: We suggest the patient's year of birth or
the last four digits of the social security number, as these numbers
never change and are easily remembered.
Q: How do our patients know when to call for
their messages?
A: Your staff simply gives each patient their
own personalized LabLine
Central Patient Card. All you do is write down the patient
ID number. As part of the Message Notification Service, the system will
let your patient know they can now call in to retrieve their message.
Q: Do you furnish the Patient Cards?
A: Yes. We provide the first batch of cards you'll
need as part of your initial setup. After that, you'll need to print
them yourself, but we'll supply a customized ready-to-print graphic
image for your local printer.
Q: What is your Appointment Reminder Service?
A: When you enter an appointment date and time
for a patient online, LabLine Central will call them one business day
before their appointment to remind them about their next scheduled visit.
Q: What is your Missed Appointment Service?
A: When a patient misses an appointment, you just
enter the patient number online, and LabLine Central will call them
with a friendly reminder to reschedule their appointment. We also give
the patient your office number for their convenience.
Q: What is your Office Announcement Service?
A: You can easily have LabLine Central call your patients with
appointment cancellations due to weather or scheduling changes, collection calls
or general announcements like "Moving To A New Location!" Pick the message,
enter the patient numbers and click "Send". It's that easy!
Q: What is your Message Notification
Service?
A: Once you send a message to a patient, LabLine
Central will call to tell them their message is now waiting.
Q: When does the system call out to my patients?
A: You decide. Simply log in as the administrator,
go to the Admin Mode, and you can choose "when" and "how" every call is handled.
We give you total control of the outdialed calls to your patients.
Q: How much does LabLine Central cost?
A: Our LabLine Central service is $189 a month per provider,
plus a one-time start-up fee of $500 per practice.
Q: What equipment do we need to get started?
A: With just a telephone and an internet connection,
you can call in lab results and view reports from anywhere on the
planet.

Can we generate and print reports or track who’s called?
A: Yes to both. A great feature of LabLine Central
is that each provider and group administrator has a powerful reporting
system ready for use. Via the web, you can produce any combination
of
up-to-the-minute reports that you might need:
- Any or all patients
- Any or all providers
- All messages, new messages or retrieved messages
- All dates, a specific date or a range of dates.
You can even sort by date sent, date retrieved, or patient number,
in either ascending or descending order. All this may seem a little
complicated until you try it for yourself. We keep it simple with
drop down boxes and calendars. It just couldn’t be easier!
Q: Can we change patient or provider passcodes?
A:
Yes. The group administrator can quickly change passcodes and print
reports.
Q: Does LabLine Central meet HIPAA compliance?
A:
Yes.
Q: What about old messages sent to patients?
Do you store them?
A: Yes. We archive all messages for 2 years.
Q:
Does LabLine Central require us to sign a long-term commitment?
A: No. We are confident in our service, and
we know you’ll be pleased. However, if you’re not 100%
satisfied, you may cancel
at any time with a 30-day written notice. No reason necessary.
